PRESS RELEASE
Apex.AI and LG Electronics Partner to Develop Next-Generation HPC Prototype for SDVs (Software-Defined Vehicles)
Seoul, December 18 – Apex.AI and LG Electronics have entered into a strategic collaboration and signed an MOU to prototype and research a next-generation High-Performance Computer (HPC) that integrates Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), cockpit and other controllers. This innovative prototype, powered by Apex.OS, will be showcased in a demo vehicle at CES 2026, offering VIP attendees a firsthand look at the potential for enhanced safety and efficiency in modern vehicles.
By pairing Apex.OS’s AI-first runtime with QNX’s next-generation real-time operating system, customers will be able to move faster from prototype to safety-ready deployment. Joint demonstrations are underway to show how the two platforms integrate to support real-world autonomy and robotics workloads.
Why It Matters
Modern autonomy stacks must reconcile two demands that have traditionally been difficult to combine: high-performance AI processing and predictable, safety-certifiable real-time execution.
The Apex.AI and QNX integration delivers:
- Deterministic real-time execution for AI workloads
- AI-native development tools and ROS-style ergonomics
- Reduced integration and safety certification risk through validated compatibility
- Applicability across industries requiring safety-critical AI
“Bringing Apex.OS together with QNX’s proven and trusted real-time operating system provides a practical and certifiable foundation for production-grade autonomy,” said Jan Becker, CEO and Founder, Apex.AI. “With validated compatibility on QNX SDP 8.0, teams can now move from AI prototypes to deterministic, safety-ready systems with far less integration risk.”
“QNX delivers deterministic, safety-certifiable platforms for mission-critical systems,” said Romain Saha, Senior Director, Strategic Alliances at QNX. “Working with Apex.AI extends that foundation, giving customers a clear path to build and certify real-world autonomous and robotic systems.”
How the Platforms Work Together
Running Apex.OS on QNX OS 8.0 with validated integration patterns for deterministic data paths, safe monitoring, and controlled shared-memory exchanges, will help engineering teams meet strict timing budgets and assemble stronger safety arguments during safety certification.
Real-World Impact
Apex.AI and QNX-compatible architectures are already being adopted by autonomous mobility development, perception-to-control pilots, medical device projects, and automotive domain controller initiatives. A live urban mobility demonstration based on a real-world customer deployment will be showcased at Apex.AI’s booth at CES 2026, highlighting how the platform performs in complex, real-world scenarios.
